In Memory of Vicki Lynn Hegg

My dear sister, Vicki, passed away on Thursday, August 19th, (just over one month after the death of our mother on July 16th.)  She died unexpectedly of complications from a previous surgery. She was surrounded by much love from family and friends in her final hours; she was not alone.

Vicki was an amazingly talented woman.  She made the most beautiful stained glass creations - lamps, mirrors, door sidelights, window decor and more.  She custom designed quilts that are treasured by her loved ones. Vicki was never without a book and she usually had a jigsaw puzzle in progress on her kitchen table.

There will be a CELEBRATION OF VICKI'S LIFE on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 5TH AT 1:00 PM at the Hegg Family Farm in rural Glenwood.  (This is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from the Cities - see directions on this site.)

The Celebration will be a reflection of everything Vicki loved.  She loved all living creatures; every stray animal that crossed her path found a place in her home and in her heart. Vicki also loved cowboy boots and jeans, simple pleasures, the 70's, boxed wine, good books, family heirlooms, playing cards and performing random acts of kindness.

Vicki was a long time Board Member of the Pope County Humane Society.  She was the Executive Director of HRA of Glenwood, MN.  Vicki put her heart and soul in the well-being of the residents of Glenhaven Manor.  Vicki is also a past member of the Gilchrist Town Council.

Vicki will be remembered and loved forever by her daughter, Jody Gray, son-in-law David Mykkeltvedt, precious grandchildren, Anna, Aaron and Anders; brothers Bob (Jacki), Barry (Linnae); sisters Voni (Thom) Gardner, VeNita (Paul) Schnebele; dear neices and nephews, Mike Hegg, Melissa Entzion, Jason Mackner, Briana Riley, Lindsey Marcum, Lauren Hegg and Eric Hegg.  She will be missed by 7 great-nieces and nephews and countless friends.  She also leaves behind her 4 legged friends, dog, Lexie and cat Bubbalooie.

Instead of flowers, please consider making a donation to Vicki's favorite cause, the Pope County Humane Society, 17584 195th Ave., Glenwood, MN  56334.  All are encouraged to follow Vicki's example and perform a Random Act of Kindness every day.
